Nearby are the picturesque towns of Bourdeilles and Brantome with their cobbled streets, it is a region of varying and dramatic scenery with many castles to visit and provide many places to relax and spend time swimming, canoeing and eating a picnic of local French bread meats and cheeses.
Perigord is described as the capital of pre history with many pre historic sites to visit and the local cuisine features duck geese and poultry together with cepes and truffles which go together well with the local wines of Bergerac and Montbazilac.
Activities in the area include swimming, golf, tennis, riding, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing with the beaches of the Atlantic only just over an hour away.
